Caesarean Section after fifty six hours in labour and still smiling ....

February 18, 2019

I had to be induced at 38+2 for Obstetric Cholestasis. As soon as I had the pessary inserted, I started doing my Hypnobirthing and the contractions started within an hour of positive thinking. After 56 hours, I had dilated to 8cm but my body was tiring so the decision was made for Caesarean section. However during this very long period, Oliver did not show signs of being in distress once and I truly believe that this was due to the breathing techniques that allowed me to stay calm and in control and allow as much oxygen to get to him as possible. We had the most amazing Caesarean in which we were able to watch him being lifted out and my husband cut the cord. I listened to my hypnobirthing music throughout the Caesarean and felt calm at all times. I would do the whole labour again tomorrow. Thank you Caron for helping me have the most amazing birth experience. Oliver Thomas Greenfield 12/8/18
